DOWNLOAD THE CASE STUDY

All Saints Construction, along with our sister company All Saints Living, sensitively restored and renovated Burn Brae House in 2016. The former site of Burn Brae Medical Group, we developed this grand Georgian building into 6 two bedroom apartments and a 3 storey, 2 bedroom town house. We demolished some of the later, less attractive additions to the building and constructed an extension to the west gable to match the exterior of the property. There is lift access to all floors with internal balconies overlooking the glazed front atrium area. Electric gates provide entry to the private, secure car park with dedicated parking bays for each apartment.

The Setting

The address for this property is: Burn Brae House, Hencotes, Hexham, Northumberland NE46 2EJ.

The building is located on Hencotes, a road winding through the popular West End of Hexham. It is well placed for its ease of access into Hexham’s town centre, with its historic Abbey, shopping facilities and excellent schools and sporting facilities.

The Tyne Valley links easily into Newcastle to the east via the A69 and to Carlisle and Cumbria to the west. Rail links are also very good within the area.

The Properties

Burn Brae House is Grade II listed and retains an abundance of period features, including original fireplaces and sash windows. The existing period stairwell and staircase in the main entrance will be trained. Many of the apartments have additional utility areas and study/dressing rooms, as well as large open plan kitchen/dining areas.  Each apartment has its own en-suite off the main bedroom.

Apartments Two, Three, Five and Six will be serviced by a newly installed and fully maintained lift for the first and second floors of the property. Apartment Four boasts a large basement with a multitude of uses, such as a wine cellar, additional storage or home office-cum-workshop.

The Town House has been renovated and further developed from an annexe to the original listed building. This 3 storey town house benefits from its own entrance. The property retains original features throughout, such as the period fireplace in a reeded surround containing and range.

Parking will be located at the rear of the property and comes as standard with each apartment. There will be a paved seating and garden area to the rear of the property, for exclusive use by residents, which will be accessed via the atrium, with much of the existing landscaping surrounding the building  being maintained and improved.
